Our Story

A Family Legacy in Construction

We combine generations of building experience with a modern, client-focused approach.

We started this company because we kept seeing the same problems — contractors who don't return calls, budgets that balloon without explanation, and timelines that slip by months. As a veteran and woman-owned general contractor in Sonoma County, we decided to build a firm that does things differently: honest pricing, clear communication, and a team that actually shows up when they say they will.

We handle new construction, home remodeling, kitchen and bathroom remodels, ADU construction, and insurance restoration. We're not trying to be the biggest contractor in the county — we take on a limited number of projects so we can give each one the attention it deserves.

Ryan

Ryan is a master of his craft — the kind of builder who can do complex framing math in his head and spot a problem before it becomes one. He's been on construction sites since he was in diapers, learning everything from his father Don. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he earned a Master's Degree in Construction Management, combining a lifetime of hands-on experience with formal training.

He manages all construction operations and is on-site every day, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule are maintained on every project. When something needs to be built right, Ryan's the one making sure it happens.

Kelly

Kelly, a Sonoma County native, also comes from a family of construction entrepreneurs. Her perspective on the meaning of home was profoundly shaped when her family lost their house in the 2017 fires.

She manages scheduling, coordinates subcontractors, handles permitting logistics, and ensures that timelines and budgets stay on track. She's also the main point of contact for all clients — so when you call, Kelly's the one making sure things get done.

This experience drives her design philosophy: to create spaces that are both beautiful and deeply functional. She leads the design process, working with clients to create spaces that are a true reflection of their needs and aesthetic.

Jaime

Jaime founded Sonoma Residential Services with a clear vision: to build a construction company that actually puts clients first. With a background in business operations and marketing, she saw too many homeowners frustrated by poor communication, surprise costs, and contractors who disappeared mid-project. She set out to change that.

Today, she oversees the company's marketing, brand presence, and creative direction. As a professional photographer, she documents every phase of each project from groundbreaking to completion — giving clients a real-time window into their home's transformation.

Don

Everything we do at Sonoma Residential Services carries the legacy of our father, Don, a master builder with over 50 years of experience across Hawaii, California, and Idaho. He spent his life perfecting his craft — framing homes, solving impossible problems on job sites, and teaching anyone willing to learn the right way to do things.

We grew up on his construction sites. While other kids were at summer camp, we were hauling lumber, learning to read blueprints, and watching Dad turn a set of plans into someone's dream home. He didn't just teach us how to build — he taught us that your work is your word. If you tell someone you'll do something, you do it right, on time, and without excuses.

Dad passed away last year, and not a day goes by that we don't wish we could call him for advice on a tricky framing detail or hear him critique our tile work. But his standards live in every project we take on. When we insist on doing things the right way — even when it takes longer or costs more — that's Don talking.

Everything we build is in his name.

We believe that trust is the foundation of every successful project.

Integrity

We give you a number and we stick to it. If something changes, we tell you before it shows up on an invoice. No surprises, no hidden fees, no vague "allowances" that turn into budget overruns.

Craftsmanship

Ryan learned to build from his father, who spent 50 years building custom homes. That means we know what good work looks like — and we know how to get there without cutting corners. The details matter to us because they matter to you.

Community

Kelly grew up here. She lost her family home in the 2017 fires and rebuilt. This is personal for us — we live in the same neighborhoods we build in, serving Santa Rosa, Petaluma, and Healdsburg. Our kids go to the same schools. We're not going anywhere.

This is what we look like on a Tuesday.
